Stayed here for the US Visa.
The rooms were clean and the service was prompt. The sheets were a bit old, we asked the staff to change them and they were quite accommodating in doing so.
The dinner menu was pretty good and tasted nice and fresh. The breakfast buffet was very underwhelming, no a lot of options (which is okay) but the quality of dishes was poor.
Other than that the stay was comfortable, the rooms and washroom was nice and clean

Our stay at Rathna Residency was absolutely a delightful experience. From the moment we booked our room, the very cordial and efficient team ensured that our stay was comfortable and hassle free. The rooms were extremely clean, well lit with clean towels and linen. The housekeeping staff ensured that the rooms were tidy and supplies in the room stocked at all times. They were very prompt in responding to room service requests. They have a very cozy restaurant with fresh and scrumptious food. It is always fresh and healthy. They had a great breakfast spread with various food options. And I have to give a special mentioning about the very efficient, extremely friendly staff at Rathna Residency. I thank them for making our stay and joyful and comfortable one. Rathna Residency is a great place to stay if you need to visit the US consulate, have metro access or to just have a comfortable stay while exploring the amazing Chennai city. Great place to stay
Rathna Residency is a perfect place to stay in Chennai. It is close to the US consulat. It is 10 mins by walk or 2-3 mins by auto. There is auto stand near by too.
The hotel had the facilities of early check-in. Parking facilities were also available. The room was very pleasant and clean. Breakfast was excellent. The restaurant staff - Priskilla and the team were really very friendly and very helpful. They greeted with great hospitality. No matter what time of day or night, someone will always be there to attend you. I was very much impressed with the service. The price paid was justified.
On my next vist to Chennai, I will definitely check into Rathna Residency again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Excellent Stay Near the US Consulate
We had a very pleasant stay at Ratna Residency, Chennai. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and well-maintained. The bathrooms were extremely clean and had all the necessary essentials. Service was quick, and we appreciated that they provided free water bottles — something many hotels don’t.
Another highlight was how cooperative the staff were. When we mentioned that our train was later in the day, they kindly extended our stay for a few extra hours without any hassle, which we really appreciated.
Location-wise, it’s perfect for anyone visiting the US Consulate — very close by, and it’s easy to get autos, Ola, or Uber. Even the local auto drivers know the place, so getting there and back is very convenient.
A couple of minor downsides: the Wi-Fi connection was quite weak and barely worked, and while the front desk staff were professional, they could have been a bit warmer or more welcoming.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Ratna Residency, especially for those visiting the US Consulate area. 👍

If you have work in American consulate the location is suitable.
The hotel rooms and toilets are clean. But, the type of panelling( dark ) and the type of floor (black) chosen is such that you feel very gloomy once you enter the room.
No bed side lamp is provided to enable reading without disturbing the other person.
The persons at the reception desk are not communicative. There is no facility to book a taxi or any conveyance as there is no booking desk available. Personnel at the reception are not helpful.
The complimentary breakfast is good . More importantly the personnel at the breakfast are friendly and very responsive.
